But one thing he’s far above average at is driving. We joke back and forth quite often (mainly I joke) about who is a better driver but he is hands down one of the best drivers I’ve ever gotten into a car with. And I don’t just mean every day driving around town. I mean like, get him on a track and he will give you a ride like you have never had before. The times I rode with him I often hopped between THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME and OMG WE ARE GOING TOO FAST TO MAKE THAT TURN then followed that up by I AM GOING TO HURL GET ME OUT OF THIS CAR!!

Watching these videos often makes me nauseated. When you are in the car, those high speed turns, the force of the car fighting against what all the laws of nature say should not be possible… the video just doesn’t do it justice. It’s a pretty awesome feeling.

Ben hasn’t driven like that since his accident. I know he misses it. It’s in his nature.

So Monday when he sent me an email about going Karting with some of the guys from work I was like YES! GO DO THAT! Because Ben after driving fast is the best kind of Ben to be around.

I was totally kidding.

Kind of.

But I had no doubt that he’d come home with these:

It’s a good thing too because he’s also an excellent source of heat on cold nights. I can’t imagine how much it would cost me to have to try and stay warm if he wasn’t around.

The end killed me. The end is literally Cassidy, channeling me. Except with no cuss words.

For a day and a half they played, and played and played and played AND PLAYED. It was pretty cute. I tried to get some good DSLR shots of the two of them but they WOULD NOT HOLD STILL. Maizy LOVED to chase Samus around and Samus spent pretty much all day today taunting her, then running away, then chasing her around the living room. I SWEAR that kitten is convinced she’s a dog. A very BIG DOG. One day she’s going to wake up and realize that she’s just a silly little cat and she’s going to hate herself.

Danica and Reyna spent the day chasing Kumo all around the house. Girls against poor boy. The poor boy loved every single second.

Since Reyna and Maizy left a few hours ago Kumo, Danica and Samus have all been curled up on their various beds sawing logs. Tired dogs are good dogs.

And I’m about to join them.

This afternoon she was sitting on the couch and I noticed her cheeks were pretty pink.

Me: Your cheeks are pretty pink, do you feel warm?
Cassidy: *shrug*
Me: You might have a fever, we should take your temperature.
Ben: You know, the best way to find out if you are sick or not is to rub peanut butter all over your face and let the dogs lick it off.
Me: …
Cassidy: OKAY!
Me: …
Ben: WOOHOO!
Me: …
Kumo: I HEARD PEANUT BUTTER THERE IS GOING TO BE PEANUT BUTTER WHERE IS THE PEANUT BUTTER I LIKE TO EAT PEANUT BUTTER!
Danica: WOOHOO I DON’T KNOW WHY WE ARE SO EXCITED BUT I’M GOING TO BE EXCITED TOO BECAUSE MY BROTHER IS EXCITED AND I LOVE MY BROTHER SO MUCH IN ALL CAPS!

According to Dr. Benjamin Hirsch if you laugh when a dog licks peanut butter off of your face, you can’t be sick. It’s all very scientific.

It basically makes YouTube finally move more into the realm of social networking. You can see which of your friends are online, what they are watching, when they have faved something, etc. From what I can tell these invites are still pretty exclusive so if you are as addicted to TheTube as I am all you have to do is comment here, add me as a friend on YouTube (YouTube only allows friends to be given invites) and I’ll get you the invite.

What’s a vlog? It’s a VIDEO!? It goes on YouTube? Can I watch? Can I talk? Can I see? Can I sit here and ask you 10,000 questions and annoy you till you let me do it too?!

So after I recorded my video I asked her if she wanted me to do one of her. She said, “But what will we do?!” So I told her, “How about I ask you questions and you answer.” She squeeled, “Like an interview on tv?! THAT IS SO AWESOME!” Then she ran to her room to get her Hannah Montana microphone because anybody being interviewed, OBVIOUSLY, needs a microphone.

I’ve taken shots before because I don’t write about her here that much lately and normally I just ignore that crap but here’s your explanation:

She’s getting to the age where she specifically asks me NOT to write some things about her. Gone are the days where I could tell you all about her more embarrassing moments, like the time she let a kid stick a pencil up her nose, and that makes me kinda sad, but I always want to respect her wishes and never make her feel like my blog is more important or there to harm her. With the popularity of the internet these days and knowing that her friends could happen across the site, I don’t ever want her to SUFFER because of anything I’ve written here.

And it kind of fucking sucks! Because she’s at that awkward airheaded stage where she does crazy things ALL THE TIME that have Ben and I stand back with puzzled expressions wondering where in the hell did THAT come from!? And things are happening. Like, developing and there are questions being asked and there has been more than once when, after a particularly nerve racking set of questions from her, I’ve wanted to run to the laptop and be all YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT I JUST HAD TO EXPLAIN TO MY DAUGHTER!! NOT TO GIVE ANYTHING AWAY BUT IT RHYMES WITH “DRAW” AND WHY SHE HAD TO WEAR ONE BECAUSE OF THOSE THINGS ON HER CHEST THAT ARE DEVELOPING THAT RHYME WITH “CRESTS”.

And yes, they are capslock moments because I am blond, and a mom, and in slight total denial of the fact that my LITTLE GIRL is becoming a WOMAN. With CRESTS!

So during the taping of her video I asked her what SHE would blog about and in the midst of some pretty funny answers, she gave one that actually made sense! THEN! She plugged her own blog! A blog that has been sitting there, unsued, untouched, and unthought about for years now.

After the videos were posted that night I spent some time looking for new themes for her site and found one, pretty much recoded the entire thing because it was a MESS, and put it up. So, her blog is back and this post is where I’m going to point people to when I get that eventual email asking me how it feels to be “exploiting my daughter to the internet for the amusement of my flickr friends, YouTube subscribers and blog readers”.

My answer is simple. She asked for it, she wanted it, and it’s a way that she gets the chance to really express herself while I still retain control over it. I will moderate all the blog posts, I will moderate all the comments, I will get all the emails, etc. She just gets to write up some of her own stuff and make fun videos and she is thrilled about that.

I went ahead and threw up some quick posts to cover the last few months and to give her an example of things that could be written/talked about and then put up the video.

And also, I’m including the video here because it’s funny, and silly and I totally got her to finally admit that she’s in LUV with Joe Jonas.

For some reason Viddler is crapping out for all the computers in the house even though it works for everybody else. I’m pretty sure it’s just a problem with our ISP since I’ve run across a few other sites with issues. Hopefully I can get that issue resolved sometime soon because I like it better than YouTube.

We’ve been busy, busy, busy working on the house. Ben’s been painting the garage and I’ve been trying to get the last of the unpacking done and the back yard cleaned up more. There’s pictures of all of it if you click on one of the flickr photos up there.

Other than that, things have been pretty much normal and everyday grind type of stuff.

Weekdays: Get up, work, gym, homework, dinner, sleep, rinse, repeat.
Weekends: Get up, work on house, eat, work on house, eat again, work on house some more, pass out exhausted on the couch, watch TV, sleep, rinse, repeat.

I kinda feel bad about not blogging as much though so I’ve decided to start video taping more and posting them here and there and all across the web for you awesome people to enjoy. Here is a little gem that happened Monday after school.
