Procedure

I had the mole removed today. They cut a chunck of flesh an inch long and about 1/4 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep out of my breast.

All and all it went very well. They numbed it, cleaned it… and the actual cutting part took about two minutes and I didn’t feel a thing. Then they cauterized it (burning flesh smells NASTY!!), and stitched it up.. LOTS of stitches. That took about 15 minutes and I was all done. It felt so weird for my whole BREAST to be numb.

The best part… I can’t even feel it. I thought after cutting, burning then sewing my breast I would like, you know, hurt a little. I feel absolutley no pain at all. And I was asking for pain medication. He said no and now that I realize there’s no pain I bet he probably thinks I’m a pain pill fiend!! HA!

The only complaint I have now is the smell. It still smells like Iodine. I think it got into the gauze. It smells rather rank. After tennis I’m gonna take the majority of the gauze off and put new layers on it and hopefully that will go away.

I feel like such an idiot for being so worried about it. I didn’t worry this much when I knew I was goiug to give birth to a child, or when I got the tattoo, or my belly piered but I’ve been dwelling on this stupid ‘procedure’ for almost a week now. 😳

  1. It may have something to do with the fact that the tattoo and the piercing were choices, and all three things had positive outcomes. This could be something not so cool…and who likes having hunks of flesh removed?!

  2. Yeah, that probably has something to do with it. I want to get my nose pierced now.

I’m not sure what that has to do with anything… but still. heh
