Instead of defaulting to just TELLING her what something means we make her look it up. Ben is better about it that I am. I think when they have to look it up they retain the information better. I still have my Yamaha flute somewhere, along with all of my sheet music, including the Star Wars medley I played in eighth grade. I have all of the medals I won at Solo & Ensemble festival, plus the sheet music from when I was in 1st chair in the All-County Band. I hope she enjoys flute playing as much as I did!
