Canada has passed a bill that will give married gay people the same rights as straight people. What an interesting idea! Equal rights despite sexual orientation!! It’s only the third country to do so joining the Netherlands and Belgium.

In other Canadian News That Proves What A Dumbass President We Have: Bush has appointed a new Ambassador to Canada, David Wilkins. He’s been to Canada once30 years ago. He was the chairman of Bush/Cheney’s second term fundraising in South Carolina though which makes him more than qualified to represent our nation in a country he’s been to one time 30 years ago.

Wordpress 1.5.1.3

Jun 29, 2005 Author: Anna | Filed under: In the News

Wordpress has a new update. According to the site there was a security issue discovered in xmlrpc.php. They suggest updating ASAP or removing the file until you can. I’m not sure what the file does or if it will cause issues within WP so do so at your own risk.

Full details here: http://wordpress.org/development/2005/06/wordpress-1513/

EDIT - So, I just glanced at the xmlrpc file and it is pretty much the entire engine running WP so deleting it will cause a complete breakdown of the app. I’d go for the update ASAP option. Me on the other hand, I’m gonna ignore it till tomorrow because I’m lazy and Ben’s looking all cute and cuddly on the couch. ;)

Tsunami Warning

Jun 14, 2005 Author: Anna | Filed under: Anna, In the News

We decided to play some City of Heroes after the Princess went to bed and as Ben was getting up off the couch the annoying, loud, ear bleeding sound from the Emergency Boradcast System came on the TV. I was about to yell at Ben to mute it when he said, “Tsunami Warning?!”

Crazy. They said it was not confirmed and that it was just a precaution. But still, crazy. I can only imagine all the freaked out people in the Bay and it made me think if there really WAS a Tsunami and everybody tried to leave San Francisco all at one time and in the 30 minutes warning we had tonight… well, it would not be a successful evacuation attempt. At all. Hopefully they’d know to just get to higher ground within the city. But judging by the way the people in the city drive, not gonna happen either.

Drive Thru Call Centers

When I first read this article I was a little annoyed. I hate how everything is becoming so unpersonal these days. Then I remembered that maybe it really would speed up slow drive thru times… and that can not be a bad thing.

Although, I still want to yell at the person who’s messed up my order.

Lunchtime Humor.

I’ve been swamped at work. Swamped. I thought that as we got closer to Christmas office production would slow down but unfortunately they’ve been turning out more paperwork than I’d like. 1200+ refunds a week all of which have to go across my desk for processing. And that’s not including the list of child psych refunds that I have to have done by December 31st. My alpha split is A-F and I have 18 pages worth… 36 names per page. The rest of the crew has about the same amount. *sigh*

Anyway, during lunch I usually sit at my desk, read MSNBC and CNN.com while shoving some food into my face quickly and get right back to work. Today I almost spit my water out when I read one paragraph in this article.

The article is about the abundance of Christmas lights on houses that have sprung up all across the nation and how it’s pissing off neighbors in the process. Come on people, so traffic is a little slow around your house. Spread some Christmas cheer!! Think of all the smiling kids! And if you happen to be one of the people that have 1,000,000 lights on your font yard, this is always an option when your neighbor complains:

In Monte Sereno, Calif., a couple whose huge display attracted thousands of passers-by angered neighbors and led the City Council to require a permit for any exhibit lasting longer than three days. This year, the yard holds a 10-foot Grinch, its spiny finger pointing at the house of the neighbors who initiated the complaints.

BIO
Hello! Welcome to aflux.net! My name is Anna and I am NOT the internet. I have a fabulous husband, a silly daughter, two cats and 14 personalities. I'm a loud mouthed, outspoken, opinionated pain in the ass but I swear I make up for it by being cute and cuddly. I like pie. I'm on pretty much every single social network out there so rather than go on and on about myself, go joing them, add me, and join the circus in my head. I promise I won't bite too hard and if nothing else, I'm fun to laugh at when you're feeling down.
